The GenoMEL group in Leeds has published a paper in the journal Cancer Causes and Control titled, 'the determinants of serum vitamin D levels in participants in a melanoma case-control study living in a temperate climate'. The paper's suggestion that fair skinned individuals may need to take vitamin D supplements has caused considerable media interest.
